2011 RACC Golf TournamentMake plans now to register your team for the 2011 RACC Golf Tournament to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Citrus County. Last year's tournament raised more than $10,000 to help Habitat build affordable homes. 2010 was a sellout, so don't miss your chance! Volunteers from Qivana, a natural products company headquartered in Utah, teamed up with Habitat family partner Kristen Caine June 2, to help complete Kristen's Inverness home in time for the dedication ceremony later this month. Qivana founder Derek Hall and his wife Shelby traveled from St. George, Utah, to spend time working alongside 18 Qivana volunteers from Inverness, Crystal River, Beverly Hills, Gainesville, Ocala and Largo. The men and women painted, caulked and prepped floors for tile installation at the Caine Family Home and at the house of neighbor Jany Alvarez. The Alvarez home will be dedicated June 18, and the Caine home on June 25. Nationally, the Qivana Company has adopted Habitat for Humanity as focus for its 2012 outreach program, "Qivana Cares." Rick Moore of Beverly Hills organized the service project locally. Local Qivana volunteers helped raise the walls on the Alvarez and Caine homes in February, and wanted "to help finish what they started," Moore said. For additional pictures, click the PHOTOS tab.
